La Campagnole® Pitchoune is the Campagnole® for small spaces and precise uses. Designed for children discovering gardening, seniors looking for a light tool to use standing up, but also for nurserymen and arborists planting rows of young trees or whips without needing a wide working width — it suits everyone who needs a compact, effective tool.
In market gardening, it is ideal for maintaining the walkways between beds without encroaching on neighbouring crops. For winegrowers, it easily breaks up compaction at the base of vines at the end of the season or in spring. And for working along a flowered façade, its frame sits directly against the wall — where no other rotary tool can reach.
It aerates the soil, breaks up clods and brings stones and roots to the surface — without inverting the soil, without an engine, without fuel. Thanks to its wheel, it rolls across the ground during work: no need to carry it, back stays straight. Its fixed counter-teeth work equally well in heavy clay soils and light sandy soils.
Its hidden advantage: it converts into a classic broadfork in seconds, via a simple quick-release pin. One tool, two uses. Handmade in Aveyron, lifetime guarantee on all welds.

FAQ
What is the difference between the 30 cm and 40 cm Pitchoune?
The 30 cm version is the most compact: single-wheel mounted, fitted with 3 tines spaced 9 cm apart, it is particularly suited to children, beginners and very narrow spaces (furrows, strips under 35 cm, vine bases). The 40 cm version has 4 tines and offers a slightly wider working width — better suited to adults working small areas, market garden walkways and rows of young tree planting. Both convert to a broadfork via the quick-release pin.
Is the Campagnole® Pitchoune really suitable for children?
Yes. Its reduced weight, compact width and single wheel make it the ideal tool for introducing children to gardening with a real tool — not a toy. The large pedal is easy to press with the foot, even in small shoes. It is used in educational gardens, schools and care homes for its manoeuvrability and safe handling.
What is the difference between the Campagnole® Pitchoune and the Campagnole® Gardener 50 cm?
The Campagnole® Gardener 50 cm is the reference tool for family gardens up to 300 m² — wider, heavier, faster over large areas. The Pitchoune is lighter and narrower: it suits areas of a few tens of square metres, flower borders, walkways, vine bases and small in-ground planters. Both are made in Aveyron with the same materials.
Can the Pitchoune be used as a classic broadfork?
Yes — that is one of its distinctive advantages. By removing a simple pin, the fork detaches from its pedal/wheel unit and can be used as a 3 or 4-tine broadfork, by hand, without the wheel. Two tools in one, with no extra accessory.
How do you use the Pitchoune along a wall or façade?
Simply place the tool's frame directly against the wall or low wall. The compact width (30 or 40 cm) and frame shape allow working right up to the wall — where a wider Campagnole or rotary tool cannot reach without risking damage to the building or plants. It is the ideal use for maintaining a flowered façade border, season after season.
