A pruner that's too big for your hand means a less precise cut, faster fatigue and more effort on every stroke. The Felco 14 starts from a simple principle: the tool should fit the hand that uses it, not the other way around.

At 180 mm long and 195 g, it is the most compact and lightweight pruner in the standard Felco range. Designed primarily for small hands, its balance and manoeuvrability make it a popular choice for all hand sizes — especially for precision work in tight spaces. The angled cutting head naturally extends the axis of the hand: less effort, better visibility on the cut, and a more intuitive action.

The blades are made from the same high-quality hardened steel used across the Felco range, with a 40 mm blade length for a clean cut on branches up to 18 mm in diameter. Rubber shock absorbers cushion the closing action and protect the wrist during intensive pruning sessions. The micrometric adjustment mechanism allows precise fine-tuning of the blade-to-counter-blade clearance, keeping the cut sharp even after extended use. As with all Felco tools, every part is available individually — the replacement blade carries reference 14/3.

BENEFITS

✅ Angled cutting head — naturally extends the axis of the hand for a precise, less tiring action ;

✅ Designed for small hands — compact handles (180 mm) with no loss of cutting power ;

✅ 195 g — the lightest standard Felco pruner, ideal for long pruning sessions ;

✅ Rubber shock absorbers — soft closing action, wrist protection during intensive pruning ;

✅ Micrometric adjustment — precise clearance setting to keep the blade always sharp ;

✅ Hardened steel blades, all parts replaceable (ref. 14/3) — maximum longevity, full repairability ;

✅ Forged aluminium handles, lifetime guarantee — guaranteed robustness and durability.

USE

  • Pruning vines, roses, shrubs and hedges with stems up to 18 mm in diameter ;
  • Precision work in tight spaces: espalier pruning, bonsai care, trellis work ;
  • Users with small hands (women, teenagers, people with slim hands) looking for a pruner that fits ;
  • Versatile profile: equally suited to larger-handed users for fine work requiring a short, manoeuvrable tool ;
  • Sharpen regularly with a Felco 902 or 903 stone to maintain a perfect cutting edge.

MAINTENANCE

  • Clean the blades after each use with a cloth and a few drops of Felco 980 spray to remove sap and prevent rust ;
  • Sharpen the blade as soon as the cut becomes less clean, at the original angle (approx. 20°) with a suitable stone ;
  • Lubricate the pivot and spring mechanism regularly with Felco oil or grease ;
  • Adjust the micrometric mechanism if play appears between the blade and counter-blade ;
  • Replace the blade (ref. 14/3) when it shows chipping or wear that can no longer be corrected by sharpening ;
  • Store away from moisture or in a carry holster to protect the blades.

FAQ

What is the difference between the Felco 14 and the Felco 2?

The Felco 2 is the Felco reference pruner for standard-sized hands (M/L): 212 mm, 240 g, 25 mm max diameter. The Felco 14 is its compact version for small hands: 180 mm, 195 g, 18 mm max diameter. If you have small hands or prioritise lightness and manoeuvrability for fine work, the 14 is the better choice. For thicker branches or larger hands, the 2 remains the benchmark.

What is the difference between the Felco 14 and the Felco 15?

The Felco 14 and Felco 15 are identical in size, weight and cutting capacity. The only difference: the Felco 15 features a rotating lower handle that turns during the cut, further reducing wrist and forearm fatigue over long sessions. If you prune for several hours a day, the 15 is recommended. For occasional or regular use, the 14 is more than adequate.

Is the Felco 14 only for people with small hands?

No. While it is optimised for small hands, the Felco 14 is also used by people with larger hands who want a compact, lightweight pruner for precision work. Its angled head makes it particularly effective in confined spaces where a standard pruner would be less manoeuvrable.

Are spare parts available for the Felco 14?

Yes, as with all Felco tools, every part is available individually: cutting blade (ref. 14/3), counter-blade, spring, shock absorbers, pivot, screws. This full repairability is one of the brand's greatest strengths — a well-maintained Felco 14 can last for decades.
