We all do it — caught up in the urgency of finishing a job, we put off sharpening until later. The blade dulls a little more each time. The Felco 902 is designed to break that habit: lightweight, simple to use, it slips into a pocket and is ready in five seconds.

Its high-quality corundum surface offers two grits on a single stone: the blue face (medium grit, P150) for quickly restoring a dull or lightly damaged blade, and the white face (fine grit, P400) for finishing and polishing the edge to perfection. Two sharpening stages in one tool.

The stone does not deform with use and maintains its flatness even after many sharpening cycles. It is compatible with the entire Felco range — pruning shears, loppers, cable cutters — and is equally suitable for any quality steel cutting tool. Once the technique is mastered (recommended angle 15 to 20°), the restored edge brings the tool back to its out-of-the-box sharpness.

BENEFITS

✅ Dual-grit corundum — medium P150 (blue face) + fine P400 (white face): two stages in one tool ;

✅ 30 g / 100 mm — the most compact and lightweight Felco sharpening stone, fits any pocket ;

✅ Stays flat — guaranteed flatness over time for consistent, precise sharpening ;

✅ Compatible with the full Felco range — pruning shears, loppers, cable cutters, and any quality steel ;

✅ Instant results — two passes and the edge is restored ;

✅ Excellent value — professional-level maintenance without a high investment.

USE

  • Start with the blue face (medium grit P150) if the blade is clearly dull or slightly chipped ;
  • Move to the white face (fine grit P400) to refine and polish the edge as a finishing step ;
  • Hold the stone at 15–20° to the blade bevel, keeping the angle constant along the full length ;
  • Make steady strokes with light, even pressure — do not force ;
  • Finish with a light flat pass on the non-bevelled face to remove the wire edge ;
  • Refer to Felco instruction sheets or online tutorials for exact angles by tool model.

MAINTENANCE

  • Rinse under clean water after each use to remove metal and abrasive residue ;
  • Dry before storing to prevent contamination of the abrasive surface ;
  • Store away from impacts and dust — a clean abrasive surface is an effective one ;
  • Check flatness regularly: a stone that is hollow in the centre should be replaced.

FAQ

What is the difference between the Felco 902 and the Felco 903?

The Felco 902 is a dual-grit corundum stone (P150 / P400), ideal for regular maintenance at an accessible price. The Felco 903 has a diamond coating, greater wear resistance and longer lifespan under intensive use — it sharpens, deburrs and hardens in one surface. The 902 suits the regular home gardener and the professional who sharpens frequently; the 903 is aimed at heavy daily professional use.

Is the Felco 902 compatible with all pruning shears?

It is compatible with the full Felco range (pruning shears, loppers, cable cutters) as well as any quality steel cutting tool. It is not limited to Felco tools.

Which grit should I use first?

Start with the blue face (medium grit P150) if the blade is dull or lightly damaged, then finish with the white face (fine grit P400) for a polished edge. If the blade only needs a light touch-up, the white face alone is sufficient.

What angle should I use to sharpen a Felco blade?

Felco recommends an angle of 15 to 20° between the stone and the blade bevel. Keeping this angle constant along the full edge is the key to effective sharpening. Felco instruction sheets and online videos give the exact angle for each model.
