La Campagnole® Gardener comes in two versions depending on soil type. The spring counter-tooth version is designed for light, sandy or stony soils: where fixed counter-teeth are better suited to heavy soils, the springs eject stones and roots and return to position without jamming.

Like all Campagnole® models, this tool has wheels so it never needs to be lifted. This reduces strain on the back and allows an upright posture throughout the work. The hardened steel tines penetrate to 24 cm depth and aerate the soil without inverting it, preserving soil structure and soil life. Handmade in Aveyron, lifetime guarantee on all welds.

BENEFITS

✅ Spring counter-teeth — eject stones and roots without jamming or breaking ;

✅ Ideal for light, sandy and stony soils ;

✅ No engine — complete silence, no fuel, no emissions, zero mechanical maintenance ;

✅ Integrated wheels — rolls rather than lifts: maximum back comfort ;

✅ 50 cm wide, up to 300 m² — family vegetable gardens, community allotments, small plots ;

✅ Lifetime weld guarantee ;

✅ Made in Aveyron, France — artisanal and professional quality.

HOW TO USE

  • Position La Campagnole at the start of a row, wheels on the ground, tines facing the soil ;
  • Push forward to drive the tines into the soil to 24 cm depth ;
  • Pull back: the spring counter-teeth engage, flex over obstacles and return to position ;
  • Repeat the back-and-forth motion across the full width of the plot ;
  • On very stony ground, a second pass can be made to clear stones brought to the surface.

MAINTENANCE

  • Rinse tines, counter-teeth and side plates with clean water after each use ;
  • Dry before storing to prevent corrosion ;
  • Protect the wooden handle with linseed oil and turpentine once or twice a year ;
  • Grease the wheel axles with vegetable oil to prevent squeaking.

FAQ

What is the difference between fixed and spring counter-teeth?

The fixed counter-tooth version is recommended for heavy, clay soils: its rigidity breaks up the toughest clods. The spring version is recommended for light, sandy or stony soils: the springs eject stones and roots without jamming the tool.

Is the 50 CDR suitable for professional market gardening?

For plots up to 300 m², yes. Beyond that, and for intensive professional use, the La Campagnole® Maraîcher (80 cm) is better suited: its 80 cm width covers more ground per pass and its pneumatic Ø 26 cm wheels provide better stability on large beds.
