Adjustable Handles – Ergonomic Grips for Campagnole® and Odinette

When using a Campagnole® or Odinette, your hands hold the shafts in a vertical position. Without handles, your wrists have to change position throughout the movement. The adjustable handles solve this problem: they attach directly to the shaft at the desired height and allow you to position your arms with elbows at 90° to your body, then lock your wrists in a neutral position throughout the work.

The result: less strain on the joints and less fatigue during long sessions. Each user can adjust the handle height to suit their build. The small wooden handles provide a firm and natural grip. Compatible with all Campagnoles® and Odinettes.

FITTING AND USE

• Attach both handles to the main shaft at the desired height ;
• Adjust the height so that your elbows are at 90° to your body in the working position ;
• Place your hands on the small wooden handles — your wrists remain in a neutral position throughout the movement ;
• Tighten the wing nuts to lock the position once the adjustment is found ;
• Readjust if needed according to the user's height or when changing users.

What exactly are the adjustable handles for?

Without handles, you hold the shafts with both hands, wrists free. The adjustable handles attach transversally to the shaft and allow you to hold the tool by two small perpendicular wooden handles, arms bent at 90°. The wrists remain fixed in a neutral position throughout the movement — which considerably reduces fatigue and joint strain.

Are the adjustable handles essential?

No, the Campagnole® and Odinette work perfectly without them. They become useful if you work long sessions, if you experience wrist or forearm fatigue, or if you want to optimise your posture from the start. Many users discover them later and never work without them again.

How do I set the right height?

In the working position, standing behind the tool, your arms should form an angle of approximately 90° at the elbows when your hands rest on the handles. If your elbows are too low or too high, adjust the height until you find a comfortable position. The adjustment takes just a few seconds.

Are these handles compatible with self-build kits?

Yes. As long as the shaft is of standard diameter, the adjustable handles fit equally well on a production Campagnole® and on a Campagnole® assembled from a self-build kit.
