HOW TO USE

• Ideal on permanent 1 m wide market garden beds already formed ;
• Position La Campagnole Mega at the start of the bed, all 4 wheels on the ground, tines in working position ;
• Push forward to drive all 11 tines to full depth ;
• Pull back: the fixed counter-teeth fracture clods and bring stones and roots to the surface ;
• Advance 5 to 15 cm depending on the desired finish and repeat along the full bed length ;
• For very compacted soils at the start of the season, a first shallow pass prepares a deeper second pass.

MAINTENANCE

• Rinse tines, counter-teeth and side plates with clean water after each use, or brush with a suitable wire brush ;
• Allow to dry before storing to prevent corrosion ;
• Check the pressure of all 4 pneumatic wheels regularly ;
• Protect the wooden handle with linseed oil once or twice a year ;
• Grease the axles of all 4 wheels with vegetable oil.

What is the difference between the Mega 100 cm and the Maraîcher 80 cm?

The Mega (100 cm) is 25% wider than the Maraîcher (80 cm): it covers a 1 m bed in a single pass, where the 80 cm may require a slight overlap. It also has 4 wheels instead of 2, giving it superior lateral stability at large widths. The Maraîcher 80 is the right choice for areas of 300 to 1,000 m²; the Mega takes over for larger areas and professional operations.

Why 4 wheels on the Mega and not 2 like the Maraîcher?

At 100 cm wide, a 2-wheel fork risks tipping sideways during work. The 4 pneumatic Ø 26 cm wheels distribute the weight across the full width and keep the tool perfectly guided, even on uneven ground. This provides extra safety for the user and guarantees even work across the full bed.

Can La Campagnole® Mega replace a rotary tiller on a professional holding?

On permanent beds in intensive market gardening, yes — especially when the soil is maintained regularly. It does not invert the soil, which is desirable in agroecology and permaculture. Its 100 cm width allows it to cover 1,000 m² in a reasonable time for a manual tool. Beyond 3,000 m² on initial preparation of very compacted ground, a motorised tool may remain complementary.

Are spare parts available for the Mega?

Yes. Replacement tines and counter-teeth are available as spare parts on lafabriculture.fr. Wheels and handles are also available separately. All welds carry a lifetime guarantee: in the event of a weld failure, repair is free of charge.
