The hilling disc is used to form and maintain raised crop ridges in market gardening. Mounted on a bearing housing with two bearings and a grease nipple, it comes in Ø 300 mm or Ø 460 mm and fits your equipment: tractor, animal-drawn tool carrier such as the Kassine (Prommata) or the Kombine (Jardin d'Illas), or walking tractor.
The mounting bracket and shank are made to order in our workshop in Moyrazès, to the dimensions of your equipment. Send us your measurements for a tailored quote.

The hilling disc throws soil in from both sides of a row to form a ridge, reshape it, or earth up crops such as potatoes, leeks or asparagus. This smooth, dished disc moves the soil in a single pass. It can replace a share-type ridger when the soil is loaded with crop residues.
Our disc is not limited to one type of machine. The mounting bracket and shank are made to order in our workshop in Moyrazès. The disc can therefore be fitted to the frame of a tractor-drawn implement, to an animal-drawn tool carrier such as the Kassine (Prommata) or the Kombine (Jardin d'Illas), or to the toolbar of a walking tractor.
To form a complete ridge, discs are usually mounted in pairs, facing each other. Each disc is sold on its own: order two for one ridge, or more to equip a multi-row ridger.
Every machine has its own dimensions. So that we can make a suitable bracket and shank, please tell us when ordering or requesting a quote:
If your set-up falls outside the listed options, contact us: our workshop in Moyrazès designs specific mountings on quotation.
Yes. We make the bracket and shank to match the tube section of your tool carrier, whether it is a Kassine (Prommata) or a Kombine (Jardin d'Illas). Send us its dimensions for a quote.
Yes, the disc can be fitted to the toolbar of a walking tractor. The Ø 300 mm is generally better suited to this type of light equipment. Tell us the model and the dimensions of the toolbar.
No. The disc is fixed on its axle: its working angle is set by the mounting. It turns freely on its bearing housing while working.
Two discs facing each other are usually used to throw soil in from both sides of the row. As the disc is sold individually, allow two per row.
The Ø 460 mm moves more soil and forms taller ridges: it is suited to work behind a tractor. The Ø 300 mm is lighter and easier to handle, making it better suited to walking tractors and animal traction.
Contact us with details of your equipment, the section of the mounting tube and the number of discs you need. We make the bracket and shank to order and will reply with a tailored proposal.
